It was only a matter of time before a glossy publication chronicled a few of Lady Gaga’s relentlessly expressive fans, whom she lovingly calls ‘Little Monsters.’

In its newest issue, which hits newsstands and bookstores on Thursday, V magazine whittled down more than 8,000 reader photo submissions -- all responding to an online call for entries in November -- to 200 of the most eye-popping Gaga worshipers.

The magazine used the submitted shots to create a two-page collage of its favorite photos, creating a group portrait of sorts that expertly captures what will likely be a memorable moment in pop culture history.

All the human-hair bows, pointy shoulder pads and creative use of netting recall circa 1980s Madonna mania, when Madge’s obsessed fans dolled up in lace half-shirts, stacks of rubber bracelets and spiky bangs to pay homage to pop’s most provocative fashion plate.

Gaga, who’s pretty much always in costume, certainly gives her fans enough looks to emulate --and probably cringe over years down the road.
