Swarovski crystals are smattered on just about everything these days -- T-shirts as well as beauty items -- and now the ubiquitous brand is adding a couple of more categories to its line. For spring 2011, Swarovski is launching a full men’s collection as well as a range of sunglasses that are surprisingly understated and subtle -- without a ton of crystals.

Much darker and more hefty than the women’s spring 2011 collection, called Wings of Poetry, which draws on butterflies, flowers and nature in general, the men’s line includes cufflinks, pendants, rings and money clips. Typical of most men’s accessory collections, there is a tough look to the items, with black crystals set in silver and a pendant in the shape of a screw (men do love tools and hardware). There is a group with collegiate cufflinks in the shape of preppy crests that come in traditional colors such as burgundy, forest green and blue.

The sunglasses are oversized, glamorous and reminiscent of shades that Victoria Beckham might fancy. Rather than overloading the frames with crystals, several styles were inspired by the shape and cut of a crystal. The “Amazing” frames are cut and beveled like a Swarovski crystal and shine almost as brightly.

The Swarovski men’s and sunglasses collections will be available for spring 2011 in Swarovski boutiques.
