Maybe you overdid it on the punch this weekend and you’ve entered the new year with a sleepy sigh instead of a sis-boom-bah. Or perhaps the holiday family swirl has you pining for some serious ‘me’ time.

Either way, we endorse ripping into those Netflix envelopes and swaddling yourself in the cozy comfort of a chunky knit sweater -- one of winter’s most deliciously pragmatic trends -- for the remainder of the weekend ... and into next week, if you have time off.

A few looks to inspire you to get your head out of the game:

J.Crew Whistler cardigan, $119.99. This wool-mohair blend ‘grandpa’ cardigan is thick enough to keep away the chill but chic enough to wear on a dinner-movie date.

Alice by Temperley Falcon intarsia roll-neck sweater, $325. This long-line sweater packs ski-chalet charm and an easy, uber-forgiving silhouette.

Anthropologie Un-Cabled Pullover sweater, $198. From its rusty hue to its gently belling sleeves and oversized cowl neck, this chunky pullover is pure 1970s — and a perfect topper for tall boots and jeans.

Helmut Lang Chunky Handknit turtleneck, $476. This artisanal sweater proves that luxury and comfort aren’t mutually exclusive. Sure, it will set you back a bit, but imagine curling up in front of the fire in this red-hot number.
