A strand of pearls is synonymous with Coco Chanel and the house is paying homage to her legacy and signature accessory with the spring 2011 makeup collection called Les Perles de Chanel.

As one might guess, the line is very pearlescent, with glimmery, iridescent shades of soft peach, purple, pink, blue and green.

The collection is one of the most feminine the French label has done in a few seasons, with straightforward girly colors and effects that will compliment the soft and floaty silhouettes of spring.

The one exception to the light-colored palette is a nail polish called black pearl, which is a steely yet somewhat still soft, black with shades of green and blue swirling throughout depending on which way you turn it. It looks just like, well, a black pearl. Mission accomplished.

Les Perles de Chanel will be in Chanel boutiques for spring 2011.
