Your morning fashion & beauty report: Polo in the Palisades, football fashion and 'Full Metal Jacket' for your fingernails

October 7, 2010 |  9:22 am

Q: What do you wear to watch the second-most handsome man in the world play polo? A: Whatever he wants you to wear. But seriously, Nacho Figueras (model/polo player and the face of Ralph Lauren fragrances) and his one-man campaign to mainstream the sport of kings hoofs it into Pacific Palisades on Sunday for a match. Don't expect any "wardrobe malfunctions" at halftime with the new women's apparel line from the NFL that's rolling out to 3,000 retailers nationwide for fall. "Fit for You" clothing isn't just sideline style for football wives, it's actually being modeled by football wives, too. [New York Post].

Chanel acknowledged that the military trend extends to nail varnish with the recent rollout of its khaki colors. Now it's Nars, which has created a line of nail polishes inspired by classic films (many of them war films) including Stanley Kubrick's "Full Metal Jacket" (a silver-gray color), Robert Altman's "MASH" (a coppery-gold), and Zulu, a hunter green shade named after a 1964 British film about the Anglo-Zulu War.
