Paris Fashion Week: Giles Deacon resurrects the house of Emanuel Ungaro

It had to be a hard decision to take on the house of Emanuel Ungaro, and all the baggage left by troubled starlet Lindsay Lohan, who was briefly the brand’s creative advisor.

But Giles Deacon, the good-natured British designer, is up for the challenge. His first collection, shown in a presentation with a blooming garden setting, was full of the kind of lacey, feather-flocked party dresses that Hollywood loves.

And there was a sense of fun to a pink feather pouf bag, cartoonish flower appliques and prints that is unmistakably Deacon.

A modest start, but a good one.
