Madonna launches junior's collection at Macy's in Glendale, Costa Mesa

MAZ_9575 Madonna is ready to "dress you up in her love." Or, at least, in her new junior's fashion collection — which launches Tuesday exclusively at four Macy's stores, including the Glendale Galleria and South Coast Plaza outposts (New York and San Francisco are the other two locations).

The fast-fashion line, aptly called Material Girl, was co-designed by Madge and her stylish 13-year-old daughter, Lourdes (aka Lola). Taylor Momsen, the punky, bleach-topped "Gossip Girl" star, is the face of the brand.

Comprised of clothes, footwear, handbags and jewelry, the collection is priced from $12 to $40 -- and hearkens back to Madonna's Material Girl days, when millions of screaming girls co-opted the singer's punked-out look, defined by rubber bracelets, tutus, bustiers and boatloads of bold metal accessories.

Iconix060710_032_300dpi And though the collection was designed for teens, there are plenty of pieces suitable for the 21-plus set. A faux leather motorcycle vest, plaid cropped blazer and swingy black high-waisted shorts are among the looks we could envision on twenty- and thirtysomething L.A. girls. (The floral mini-skirt and houndstooth-print bustier are better left to the ingenues.)

Fun, flirty and personal — it's really the collection Madonna should have launched years ago, instead of messing around with that minimalist H&M collection a few years back.
