‘Sex and the City’ fashion followers can add another name to the movie franchise’ roster of favorite shoe designers, which famously includes footwear icons Manolo Blahnik and Christian Louboutin.

Brian Atwood, an ex-model and former first assistant at Versace, is one of Sarah Jessica Parker’s favorite new shoe gurus. The New York- and Milan-based designer made four custom pairs of heels for Parker’s character, Carrie Bradshaw, for ‘Sex and the City 2,’ and created 30 decadent pairs for the actress’ whirlwind promotional tour.

Though Parker isn’t the first celebrity to gravitate toward Atwood’s sexy, often bombastic footwear — Gwyneth Paltrow, Nicole Kidman and Madonna are among his fans — she definitely has the clout to launch a fashion designer’s career, especially in the footwear arena.

Atwood’s current season styles include lavender suede platform stilettos with transparent side panels, peppered with gold, bubbly studs, $800, and peep-toed black suede stilettos riddled with silver rivets, $1,485. These are ‘statement shoes’ to the nth degree. Perfect grist for both Bradshaw’s and Parker’s fantastical wardrobes.
