PacSun throwing a two-day beach party in Santa Monica

June 15, 2010 |  7:10 am

Beach Ballyhoo Poster[1] PacSun, maker of surf and street fashions, is throwing a beach fiesta Saturday and Sunday in Santa Monica  to celebrate the onset of summer.

PacSun Summer Solstice Beach Ballyhoo, a two-day music festival and action-sports exhibition, will feature  bands as well as pro athletes poised to entertain the sun-loving hordes. And, best of all, tickets are free while supplies last — available at all Southern California PacSun stores.

Brands giving away gear and staging mini exhibitions at the Ballyhoo include Fox, Vans, Hurley, O’Neill (which will sponsor a swimming pool and give away shaved ice), Swedish streetwear company WeSC (expect free Swedish food and a traditional maypole) and RVCA (which is sponsoring a Kogi Korean BBQ truck — on Saturday only — with an on-site art installation).

Quiksilver wil be sponsoring a demo with skate legend Tony Hawk on Saturday from 4 to 4:45 p.m., and BMX fans can check out Fox athletes including Chase Hawk, Scott Crabmer and Trey Jones in a beach-side street session on Saturday from noon to 3:45 p.m.

Bands over the two days will include AWOLNation, Bad Rabbits, As Tall as Lions, YelaWolf, Ra Ra Riot, Circa Survive, Hey Champ, Eye Alaska, Steel Train, Neon Trees, Matt and Kim and B.o.B will perform. Party on.

Check the event's website for a complete listing of happenings.
