Bearded & Tschorn: Dr. Phil’s mustache gets its wings -- and halo

I don’t know what craziness went into the decision to have Oprah Winfrey shave off Dr. Phil McGraw’s 40-year-old lip spinach during a live taping of ‘The Oprah Winfrey Show’ on Friday, but I applaud it wholeheartedly.

I kind of envision it as having winged its way up to hirsute heaven where it will no doubt have a hard time making friends with the strike beards, and inevitably try to get Hitler’s toothbrush ‘stache to change its attitude.

The funny thing is, based on the ‘after’ photo, the mustache-less McGraw (at left) still kind of looks like he has a mustache -- only it’s a flesh-colored version -- or maybe my brain is just drawing in what it thinks should be there.

So, weigh in: Which Dr. Phil do you prefer?
