Bliss Spa's circa-1966 VW bus spreads the love about bikini waxing

REAR PASSENGER SIDE Bliss Spa, which recently opened its second L.A. location inside the W Hotel in Hollywood, is hoping to allay the fears of first-time bikini-waxers.

The spa chain, which also has an outpost at the W Hotel in Westwood, is offering 20% off your very first bikini wax from now through April 30 at all Bliss spas. Getting the discount is easy -- just drop the subtle code word, "virgin," when booking your appointment.

And to spread the word that getting your lady parts smooth-ified isn't as scary as it sounds, the spa has been driving its signature circa-1966, baby-blue Volkswagen bus all around town this week, giving out spa samples and offers. (No, no waxing takes place inside the bus; that would be beyond creepy.)

Today, the big blue will be parked at Universal Studios from 12 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.; at Ventura Boulevard at the mouth of Laurel Canyon from 2 p.m to 3 p.m.; then at the Farmers Market on La Cienega Boulevard and 18th Street from 3:45 p.m. to 6 p.m.; and, finally, at the Grove shopping center from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Friday's schedule is equally jampacked with the bus spreading the love at the Santa Monica Pier from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m.; then at Venice Beach from 3:30 p.m to 5 p.m.; and in downtown Culver City from 5:45 p.m. to 8 p.m.
