Oscar red carpet: Barbra Streisand’s menswear-inspired Oscar garb
Barbra Streisand is said to be presenting the award for best director at the Academy Awards, and she will apparently be wearing a custom-made tuxedo by L.A.-based designer Randolph Duke.
Duke is quite familiar with the diva’s tastes, having created clothing for her recent concert tour and her look for the 2003 Oscars.
The tuxedo is inspired by traditional menswear, but there’s a frilly touch in the beaded blouse made of Victorian lace from Streisand’s personal collection she will wear underneath the tux jacket.
But again – you never know until you know. What if Babs just wasn’t feeling like a tux and frilly blouse today?
