Jenni Kayne celebrates Benjamin Eyewear's specs appeal

Thursday night, Jenni Kayne hosted a party for Benjamin Eyewear designer Benjamin Montoya as he launched his new lower-priced line, Guise.

Stylists and socialites gathered in Kayne's West Hollywood boutique to try on the vintage-inspired sunglasses, which are priced around $180. Almost half of Montoya's main line retails at upwards of $300.

"I've lived through a lot of trends," said the 40-year-old eye wear designer. "I am making glasses that are more timeless and something a customer will always come back to."

Understated and elegant are words I would use to describe Montoya's designs. These specs aren't for the person who needs a giant "look-at-me" retro shape or over-sized paparazzi shields, but subtle and classic for anyone who wants to start their summer off with a chic (and now a bit more affordable) accessory.

Guise by Benjamin sunglasses are available at the Jenni Kayne boutique at 614 Almont Drive, West Hollywood.
