New York Fashion Week: Edgy-earthy makeup at Derek Lam
Conceptualized by Estée Lauder's creative makeup director Tom Pecheux -- who led 15 makeup artists working on 22 models -- the fierce look also included matte skin (which should always be the case when you have shimmery eyes and lips), bare cheeks and neutral nails created by Estée Lauder's Jin Soon Choi.
"When Derek showed me the fabrics that inspired his fall 2010 collection -- bold and muted tones mixed with earthy pigments including terracotta, greens and browns -- I thought the makeup shades should be complimentary," said Pecheux.
Here are the Estée Lauder products the makeup pros used to get the look:
Eyes: A new shadow that was tested backstage (shades will launch this fall); Double Wear Stay-in-Place eye pencil in Midnight Blue; TurboLash All Effects Motion mascara in black.
Lips: Pure Color Crystal lipstick in Crystal Beige
Skin: Double Wear Light foundation
Nails: New shade tested backstage
