When I wrote about the Kings of Leon / Surface to Air clothing collaboration last month, I noted that it was timed to hit shelves on Jan. 25, which meant the 52nd annual Grammy Awards, held a few nights later, might be a good opportunity to catch the Kings kitted out in their new wares.

Luckily, we’ve been spared a round of hipster-hatted hand-wringing; the brothers Followill decided to suit up in Burberry instead (apparently it was something of an 11th-hour decision, judging by the time we received the final press confirmation).

It turned out to be a stroke of product placement genius for Burberry since the group ended up taking home trophies in three of the four categories for which they’d been nominated -- record of the year, best rock song, and best rock performance by a duo or group with vocals, all for ‘Use Somebody.’

Seeing the boys with their arms full of gleaming Grammys last night reminded me of something I’d noticed at the recent Burberry Prorsum Fall/Winter 2010 runway show in Milan: the label sure looks good accessorized with all that hardware.
