I’ve avoided Valentine’s Day long enough but this year find it adorable and endearing and I plan to embrace it full force.

Below are what I find to be some of the sweetest and most stylish gift ideas to give for someone special or, even better, for yourself.

Tory Burch collaborated with artist Leanne Shapton on a small collection of sexy, lip-printed pieces. Prices range from $55 for the cosmetic cases to $195 for a tote bag and $125 for the pajamas at Tory Burch on Robertson Boulevard.

Lisa Perry’s accessories always have a cool, retro flare and her Valentine’s Day items are cute without being cheesy. The red patent leather duffel works for any time of the year and the bold color will make spotting it at baggage claim a breeze. Her lip print coin purse is much more affordable and would make an easy gift for girlfriends. Red duffel ($250) and coin purse ($20) at www.lisaperrystyle.com.

Nothing is sexier than a really good smelling candle. Diptyque Rooibos vanilla candle is a rich blend of creamy vanilla and floral/smoky tea. A portion of sales from this candle helps to provide medicine to people living with HIV. $68 at www.luckyscent.com.

This boldly printed scarf from Tucker Paisley says Valentine’s Day, but can certainly be worn whenever. 10% of sales will be donated to the Red Cross to aid relief in Haiti. $62 at www.tuckerpaisley.com.

And pictured above is the pièce de résistance of Valentine’s Day goodies -- the Cupid ring and Bleeding Heart pendant from London-based jewelry designer Solange Azagury-Partridge. They’re pricey, but covetable and make any outfit that much cooler. Cupid ring is $10,900 and Bleeding Heart necklace, $10,600.
