It was coming down pretty hard on the red carpet outside the Beverly Hilton, but it didn’t rain on the fashion parade. Diane Kruger had one of the best dresses of the night--a stunning Christian La croix gown the color of pink rosebuds. It was a coup for the French couturier, who had to declare bankruptcy last year. Maybe he can make a comeback after all. Rose Byrne was a close second in a eggplant-colored Lanvin column dress, accessorized brilliantly with a Neil Lane diamond clip in her hair and three Stephen Russell diamond brooches at her hip. Speaking of jewelry, Julia Roberts’ vintage 1972 Van Cleef & Arpels sautoir necklace with citrines and diamonds was astoundingly beautiful. Chloe Sevigny’s smoky lavender Valentino edged in ruffles was also a showstopper (a nice nod to another retired couturier), as was Olivia Wilde’s draped black beaded Gucci gown.
