'Precious' actress Gabourey Sidibe can't get enough of plus-size brand Swak
“Precious” actress Gabourey Sidibe is fan of Swak -- a plus-size brand that retails through its own e-commerce site. Sidibe wore the chic and inexpensive “Giselle” dress (now retailing for $48) to the BAFTA/L.A. tea party Jan. 16.
Based in Canoga Park, Swak offers an alternative to the matronly looks found at some plus-size retailers with younger and trendier styles. “We don’t do church-lady stuff,” said Brad Capo, who founded the brand nearly four years ago. Capo said Sidibe’s stylist dropped in this week post-Golden Globe to pull even more looks.
