Spring 2010 Shopping and Festive Spirits at Simone’s Holiday Soiree

Katie Simone Nehra, designer of the kicky, contemporary collection of party girl mini dresses, studded moto jackets and super-soft striped cardigans called Simone, hosted a holiday party in Beverly Hills last night for her friends and fans to sip champagne and pre-order her spring line.

Guests including Jessica Alba and Rachel Zoe combed through the rack of leopard print minis, open-back mini dresses and embellished military jackets, contemplating warm weather pieces when the air outside was chilly and wet.

Nehra’s collection was inspired by teen blogger Jane Aldridge, whose Sea of Shoes site has landed her gigs such as a capsule collection for Urban Outfitters and now muse for Simone. Aldridge even models the collection in the spring look book, wearing a biker jacket emblazoned with “Jane” across the back.

For those of us non-teen fashion bloggers who can’t pull off a leopard print mini as easily these days, there are sleek strapless LBD’s that could easily become closet staples, with or without a boxy little blazer worn over it.
