Restoration Hardware: stocking stuffer central

In my quest to find cool stocking stuffers for every member of my mid-sized family, I usually end up grabbing things from all over -- Target, Sunset Junction boutiques, craft fairs, you name it. But on a recent mall crawl I chanced upon an unexpected Mecca for stocking stuffers: Restoration Hardware.
Perhaps you’re already hip to this store’s Christmastime charms, but I had always considered Restoration Hardware to be strictly a home wares shop, full of old-style telephones and record players.
But during the holidays, the retro-loving mall chain offers a huge mound of small, nostalgic odds and ends -- most under $15.
The stuff is irresistible -- a shower radio that looks like an old transistor radio but boasts an MP3 plug-in ($12.99); a magnetic backgammon board contained in a Pan Am-style powder blue case ($7.99); a 1970s rock ‘n’ roll trivia deck of cards ($6.99); a temporary tattoo kit ($7.99); and a rubber Mr. Bill doll ($6.99) are but a few of the fun trinkets ripe for plucking.
Yes, my 38-year-old brother will surely grow weary of the vintage-inspired high-bounce rubber ball I picked up for his 6-year-old son (‘Bounces off of any surface!’) -- but guess who’s winning the most hearts this holiday?
