L.A. jewelry designer Adina Reyter reinterprets her signature designs for Walmart
' Adina Reyter's simply elegant jewelry is a favorite among the young Hollywood set. And now the L.A. native is translating a clutch of her signature styles for the masses with a collection of pieces for Walmart.
The 16-piece collection, including her trademark Twist earrings
and bangle bracelets, mimics her namesake line to a tee, only it's
rendered in less-precious metals -- lowering the prices considerably.
The Twist hoop earrings in Reyter's namesake collection will set you back $1,250, but the 10-karat polished gold Walmart version can be yours for $78. A gold chain boasting a polished silver disc is $275 in its fine jewelry form, but only $34 in its diffusion incarnation.
I
love the idea of designers creating lower-priced collections that mirror their
signature lines. Too often designers -- of both fashion and accessories
-- end up shilling collections at the mass-market level that have nothing to do with their high-priced designs.
I guess the risk in this endeavor is turning fans off the designer line when they can get what appears to be the exact same piece at a fraction of the price. But then I can't see Reese Witherspoon, Jennifer Aniston, Cameron Diaz or Demi Moore (all fans of Reyter's collection) popping into the local Walmart any time soon.

I love this collection! So classic. I've purchased about 10 pieces for myself and for Christmas gifts. My Fav's are the large twisted hoops earrings, the disk ring & the twisted bangle set. Can't wait to see what she does next! Thank you Adina!
