Before heading out to the holiday sales, gift receipt in hand, get some fashion inspiration from some of our readers’ favorite features from 2009.

Did you spend the day in the multiplex or curled up with your screeners? If so, did the actor's wardrobes inspire you as much as their theatrics did? It wouldn't be the first time. For proof, check out this piece on movie costumes that started fashion trends.

Included on the list: Brad Pitt in "Fight Club" because he "favored florid, vintage shirts and a '70s-style burgundy belted leather jacket that became de rigueur for Silver Lakers and Los Feliz denizens."
