J. Crew debuts shop-in-shop inside Ron Herman

November 14, 2009 |  6:00 am

Jcrew J. Crew, purveyor of hip preppy wear, has teamed up with L.A. retailer Ron Herman -- seller of pricey designer garb -- for a shop-in-shop inside the Melrose Avenue Ron Herman store.

The curated selection of menswear, which moved into the boutique on Monday, is being called J. Crew Special Selections. The items, including jackets, shirts, socks, ties and corduroy and khaki pants, were hand-picked by Herman, who personally visited the brand's headquarters in New York to make his selections.

Herman and J. Crew's CEO, Mickey Drexler, have been friendly acquaintances for years -- and plan to continue the collaboration indefinitely.
