Opening Ceremony operates as a bicoastal high fashion stimulus, reviving mothballed American clothing brands such as Pendleton, Bass and -- now -- Timberland.
The New York-based store, which has a Los Angeles boutique on La Cienega Boulevard, collaborated with the rugged shoe manufacturer to hipster-ize two trademark men’s styles: The trademark Convenience 6-inch suede boot ($225) now comes with flat elastic laces, one in neon (for when you hit the clubs) and the other in tan. The other shoe is the preppy 7-Eye moccasin ankle boot ($195) in burnished leather that can be laced up in hide or high-tech Taslan.

Today (Oct. 19), both kicks arrive in the Opening Ceremony boutiques.

451 N. La Cienega Boulevard, Los Angeles. (310) 652-1120. 11 a.m. to 7 p.m, Monday through Saturday. Noon to 7 p.m. on Sunday.
