Take that, Carrie Prejean. While we’re still hearing stories about the blond and beautiful Miss California’s beauty pageant troubles, our colleagues at the Babylon and Beyond blog would like to introduce you to Saudi Arabia’s inner-beauty pageant, which happens Saturday.

‘The Saudi pageant focuses entirely on ‘inner beauty,’ writes The Times’ Raed Rafei ‘This is keeping in line with the strict Islamic beliefs and traditions of a country where women are forbidden to drive, and appear in public draped in a black robe with a headscarf and often with their faces completely covered.’
