Valentine's Day gifts that are off the beaten path
Valentine’s Day grosses me out. All the red hearts, stuffed animals and waxy chocolate in the shape of
Cupid … I’ve ignored Valentine’s Day for at least 10 years, until this morning when I found a website called giftgenius.com.
Some of the gifts it recommends for V-day: A membership to a Bacon-of-the-month club and a "Casablanca" collector’s edition box with the movie, a photo book and luggage tags. Bacon and Bogart -- now that’s my idea of romantic.
Gift Genius has a well-curated list of Valentine’s gift ideas that far surpass the typical Hallmark fare. Design your own lingerie or get the Lanvin bag you’ve been drooling over -- it's got a lot of good stuff and the funny illustrations and eclectic mix of something for everyone makes it fun to shop. Even for Valentine’s Day.

Cocktail, dinner and fashion show at Couture Fashion Week is an interesting package for Valentine's Day.

Buy them the boxed set of their favorite series and spend the weekend with bowls of popcorn and drinks watching every one of them.
