Red carpet detective: Get Angelina Jolie's Globes look

January 12, 2009 | 10:08 am

Angelina Jolie went low maintenance last night in a billowy Versace sheath with minimal makeupAngelina Jolie at the 66th annual Golden Globes and no-fuss hair. The waves definitely softened her face -- she can look severe with all her hair pulled back -- and it seemed to me that she might have put the window down in the limo and let the wind rip through her mane on the way there.

Here's how her hairstylist David Babaii perfected the decidedly imperfect look he described as "light, airy and natural."

  • He used three simple tools: a blow dryer, round brush and his signature Bohemian Beach Spray, ($11.95).
  • After blow drying her hair with his David Babaii for WildAid Blow Dryer and a round brush, David took large sections, twisting the ends around the brush and spraying each with his Bohemian Beach Spray.
  • Using the dryer's low speed, he gave each section a blast of warm air to set.
  • After cooling, the section was gently unwrapped from the brush and additional Bohemian Beach Spray was scrunched in to give volume and lift.
  • Now, get in the car and put that window down. -- Monica Corcoran

Angelina's hair and make-up look like mine when I wake up late for work and have only fifteen minutes to spend on my appearance. Not something, I would imitate.

She looks beautiful, natural and simple, I mean with that face , who needs more?

The other ladies however, too much make up and overdressed.

Angelina is undeniably beautiful but she has such sad looking skin. First off the tattos are so over and she keeps getting them. She is old enough to know better. Red carpet and tattos are like a tiara with a black leather bomber jacket. She needs sunshine!!! Not super tan just enough to cover the veins and make the thin legs look healthy. She is too sallow to wear that color dress. Her hair? It looks like she did it at home. If she is nominated for an Oscar I would get some sun and wear red. Wear the hair down, cut bangs and wear it big like Drew Barrymore and tucked under. Just my opinion.
