Juliana Cairone is a vintage collector and retailer with impeccable taste for finding prized merchandise, and she’s got a collection of amazing, antique dresses to prove it. Cairone of New York (where her Midtown boutique Rare Vintage is a favorite of stylists and fashion editors) is in town right now showing a selection of gowns to celebrity stylists for the Golden Globes. And judging by the rack full of mint condition YSL, Madame Gres, Givenchy, Azzaro and Chanel, something from her stash is bound to glide down the red carpet this Sunday.

Some of the most memorable red carpet gowns have been vintage gems. Remember the brown and white ombre Hermes gown hiding Angelina Jolie’s pregnant belly at last year’s SAG awards? That came from Cairone’s collection.

Cairone has no plans to open an L.A. boutique. But not to worry. Pieces from her collection can be seen on the Rare Vintage site for anyone who’s in the market for a ‘50s Chanel ball gown or slinky Halston dress from the ‘70s. Or for anyone who just wants to browse and drool.
