Homegrown denim label Corpus, one of our own picks for a dream team L.A. Fashion Week, has snagged a $25,000 grant from winemaker Ecco Domani to show on the opposite coast.
Designers Jerrod Cornish and Keith Richardson were awarded the Ecco Domani Fashion Foundation award in the menswear category, which means they will receive a $25,000 grant to help showcase their collection at New York Fashion Week next month.
Winners in the women’s design category were Cushnie et Ochs, Lyn Devon, Matthew Ames and Ohne Titel. Monique Péan was awarded in the accessories category, and Bodkin Brooklyn for Sustainable Design.

Although they pulled down the grant in the men’s category, Corpus also does women’s clothes too -- launching a collaboration with Urban Outfitters for Spring/Summer 2008 called byCorpus.

Now if only someone would step forward and plunk down a cool $25,000 to help labels show at the not-yet-formulated future/potential L.A. Fashion Week, we’d raise our glass of Ecco Domani a little bit higher.
