While I was in Las Vegas over the weekend touring the new Encore hotel and interviewing Elaine Wynn for a profile appearing in the Image section Sunday, I hit the jackpot: the shopping jackpot, that is.

I discovered where all the glitzy fashion items from the stores at Wynn Las Vegas go at the end of the season when they haven’t sold -- to the Wynns’ outlet store on the edge of town, where Manolo Blahniks in all sizes are priced around $150 and Proenza Schouler’s tortoise pailette runway coat is 75% off the original $4,000 price.

Also spotted: pieces by Oscar de la Renta, Missoni, Zac Posen and Jean Paul Gaultier. I snagged a pair of lace Wolford tights for $35 (originally $125) and a bottle of my favorite Paestum Rose eau de toilette for $30 (originally $120).

Trust me, it’s worth the trip.
