What: A set of 20 notecards from Fred Flare, perfectly suited for any overly inquisitive gal pal or teen girl who needs to stop with the Paris Hilton- and Miley Cyrus-worship. Fred Flare -- which I have written about before and always loved -- specializes in beyond quirky gifts that rarely exceed $50. It's a great resource for wee, creative presents.

Why: In this day and age, who doesn't need a positive female role model? Nancy Drew, who inspired me to spy on my neighbor because I thought he was cheating on his wife back when I was 8, is the coolest. She's spunky, saucy, and check out that rip-curl flip in her hair.
