Hope or hype: Lumedia freckle and age spot remover

July 7, 2008 |  6:32 am

Prodshot_lumedia What: An intense serum designed to fade age spots and freckles. The main ingredient -- hydroquinone -- can irritate some skin, so be sure to test it on a small freckle first.

How much: You get 1 ounce for $90, but that amount should last for two months. Especially if you slather it only on the actual spots. Buy it here.

Suggested use: Apply first thing in the morning and before bedtime.

Results: After two weeks of usage, I can see that some of my freckles have softened around the edges and sun spots appear to be saying "adios" too. Having tried a slew of other purported lighteners and pigmentation removers, I rank Lumedia highest in efficacy.

Oddly: The formula tightens my skin and leaves my face looking tauter in a 27-something kind of way. No complaints here.

Verdict: Try this, if you are A) diligent about using a product twice daily, B) bemoan your freckles and/or sun spots twice daily.
