Dita Von Teese designs lingerie for Wonderbra

July 8, 2008 |  2:28 pm

74774248 In the ever increasing annals of celeb-designers -- wasn't there a time when all actors wanted to direct? -- here's one that actually makes a shred of sense. Dita Von Teese, ubiquitous burlesque star with an 18-inch waist, has designed a collection of vintage-inspired underwear for Wonderbra. The line will debut in London in September and quite possibly make its way to the states too.

Expect 1940s-style push-up bras in satins and silks. Champagne glass and adoring men with a thing for Bettie Page bangs, not included. (Thank the Lord.)

Finally! Finally! I've been waiting so long.

I love lingerie like slips and bras and things you put on under your clothes and not the kind of stuff you wear just in case you decide to have spontaneous sex with a co-worker.

I love wearing slips and undergarments but I can't find any. They either look like something my grandmother would wear or they are so cheap and shoddy I would be too afraid of being in an accident to wear them (remember what our mothers say about clean underwear) I want the slip Elizabeth Taylor wore in Cat on a Hot Tin Roof.

Personally, I hate Victoria's Secret - over priced, over hyped, over rated. It has a silly, empty headed quality about it. I want grown women's slips and bras and chemises.

Go Dita!

How's the Rage been?

Off subject. I decided to try La Mer. It might be psychological but the improvement in my skin has given me a renewed vigor for life. I tried to look up this mystery doctor who invented La Mer and read up a little on that very strange story about how he blew his face off in a terrible lab accident then labored night and day for a cure for his scars but I found nothing except Estee Lauder sites. The whole story sounds sort of fishy.

Has anyone ever looked into it?
