The Nipple Effect: Plastic surgery for perfect areola

February 13, 2008 |  6:57 am

NipplefountainHow do I hate my nipples? Let me count the ways. Afrowoodstatue
Just when you thought plastic surgeons had targeted every square inch of a woman's anatomy, along comes "nipple surgery." The procedures range from nipple reduction in length and width to reducing large areola by tampering with their dark pigmentation. There's also a quick fix for asymmetrical  nipples. Say what?  Women who suffer from inverted nipples may not be able to breastfeed and so it's understandable why they would seek out this surgery; same goes for any woman in need of reconstructive surgery after a mastectomy.

On nipplerepair.com, the Marina Plastic Surgery Associates outlines the many reasons a gal might look down and shudder at her rack. Um, thanks.  In fact, I'm shocked that certain nipples are even contenders for a nip and tuck--no pun intended.  Enlarged nipples aren't sexy? What about enlarged areloas? Who's on the board that makes these decisions, other than greedy plastic surgeons? These procedures are a natural encore to the vaginal rejuvenation craze, created by the plastic surgery industry.  Maybe it's time for a new procedure: the testicle lift?
