Republicans have no style

February 5, 2008 |  1:09 pm

070312_jacobs_vmed_8pwidec It's Super Tuesday and a spate of fashion designers at Fashion Week in New York has informed WWD of their intentions when pulling the lever. And guess what? Not a GOP fan in the lot--though Lord knows the fashion community loves nothing more than a grand old party. Diane von Furstenberg is voting for Hillary Clinton, as is Marc Jacobs, Donna Karan and Oscar de la Renta.

The Obama camp includes Calvin Klein and Tommy Hilfiger. Others surveyed--IsabelScarf5  Toledo and Tom Ford, among them--were on the Democratic picket fence and only affiliated themselves with a party.

Clearly, Republican fashion designers are as rare as gluttonous models. That makes sense, when you consider the herd mentality of the party. Imagine the parade of dark full suits, florid Christmas sweaters, ash blonde bobs, and nude hosiery we would see on the runway.

Lord woman. Stop with the stereotypes. I'm an independent and I can tell you the Demo's are part of a herd. Just about every damn blogger is an republican disser. Now you say they can't dress up. Thank God liberals are so clear headed and so we'll dressed. Can't wait for them to clear up the problems of the US and look good doing it.

P.S. Still share the blog with the wife so she'll be on top of fashion. Had to rant though after this post.

WOW - AS USUAL, DEMOCRATS CAN ONLY BASH PEOPLE'S APPEARANCES AND NOT THEIR POLITICS...FOR NOT LIKING BAD MANNERS, LADY, YOURS ARE IN ABUNDANCE

And oh, one more thing, I worked in the fashion industry for 5 years...LA is a joke to everyone in the know

Jaime,
LA is a joke, when it comes to fashion? That's funny. I wonder why Karl Lagerfeld showed his cruise line for Chanel here last May and hometown girls Rodarte are a fave among critics.
Clearly, you don't work in the fashion business anymore, sugar pie.

BUT STILL SO FAR BEHIND, SUGAR TITS! I WON'T RESPOND ANY FURTHER...YOUR ARTICLE IS AS PATHETIC AS IT'S WRITER...

THANK YOU THOUGH - YOU'VE GIVEN ME A LAUGH TO LAST A LIFETIME

Um, didn't Mel Gibson coin that phrase? We prefer original sexist insults here at Rage.

Actually there are lots of Conservative fashion designers. The problem is that liberals are too daft to understand what Conservativism really is. Its the opposite of "conservative" way of dressing. It means being an individual, and not DEPENDING on the Goverment to take care of you. I work in Fashion and know Republican designers that are famous but will be blacklisted if they express their views. Demo's are the party of tolerance? I think not! for more about this go to http://bighollywood.breitbart.com/ they blacklist us in Hollywood and in Fashion. It is well known that Anna Wintour will personally seek to destroy a designer if they are not liberals. Its ok, the tide is about to turn. My only fear is that one day our only fashion choice will be a Burkha.
