Richie Hayward, drummer and Little Feat co-founder, dies at 64

Richie Hayward, a drummer and co-founder of the L.A. band Little Feat, died Thursday at a hospital in Canada after complications of pneumonia, according to band publicist Bridget Nolan. He was 64 and had liver cancer.

Little Feat was created in 1969. The jam band mixes a variety of genres, including rock and blues. The group fell apart in 1981 after frontman Lowell George died, but reformed a few years later and has been a fixture on the touring circuit.
