Dan Resin, the Ty-D-bol man in TV commercials, dies at 79

Dan Resin, an actor who portrayed the dapper Ty-D-bol man in television commercials for the toilet bowl cleaner, has died. He was 79.

Resin died Saturday of complications from Parkinson's disease, said his daughter, Elizabeth Olynick.

Resin was born Daniel Wrzesien in South Bend, Ind., and studied at Indiana University. He had roles on Broadway in "My Fair Lady" and "Once Upon a Mattress." He also played Dr. Beeper, one of the country club members who opposed Rodney Dangerfield's character in the 1980 film "Caddyshack."

Above is a look at one of his commercials.

I thought he looked a little FLUSHED...

Thankfully he didn't drown

I remember Johnny Carson having a great time referencing the 'Ty-D-Bowl man'. But that was when late night TV was actually funny.

May Mr. Resin's family find comfort in their loss.
