The Times' Randy Lewis looks back at the 1964 T.A.M.I. concert, which featured many of pop music's top acts at the time, including the Rolling Stones, the Beach Boys and Marvin Gaye. "The T.A.M.I. Show" film chronicling the concert at the Santa Monica Civic Auditorium is available for the first time as a home-video release.

If there was a star among all the stars, it might have been James Brown, who died in 2006. His performance was so memorable even the Rolling Stones didn't want to follow him.

You can find Lewis' story here.
