Tom Brookshier, former NFL player and broadcaster, dies

Tom Brookshier, a former star player with the Philadelphia Eagles and a longtime broadcaster at CBS, died Friday at 78.

The Eagles said he had cancer.

Brookshier was an All-Pro defensive back who played on the Eagles’ 1960 championship team. At CBS, he broadcast three Super Bowls teamed with Pat Summerall.
