Alan Parsons reacted on his website to the death of Eric Woolfson, his partner in the British progressive rock group the Alan Parsons Project. Woolfson died of cancer Wednesday at 64.

‘Eric was one of the most generous, musically gifted and knowledgeable people I ever met. He was also -- and I mean no disrespect -- the most stubborn individual to set foot on the planet, a trait which made him a great businessman,’ Parsons wrote.

The Alan Parsons Project was no run-of-the-mill band. Not many groups debut with an album based on the writings of Edgar Allan Poe. But that was the theme for ‘Tales of Mystery and Imagination.’
