Brendan Mullen memorial on Sunday
A memorial service and wake for Los Angeles punk rock pioneer Brendan Mullen will be held Sunday at the Echoplex in Echo Park, reports Randy Lewis in The Times' music blog, Pop & Hiss.
Mullen died Oct. 12 after suffering a stroke. He was 60.
The Echoplex, at 1154 Glendale Blvd. in Echo Park, was selected because that's where Mullen booked his last show, his longtime partner, Kateri Butler, told Lewis.
Doors will open at 4 p.m., the memorial begins at 5 p.m. and the wake will follow.

R.I.P. Brendan.
Sorry you had to go so suddenly.
It was an honor to play at the Masque 30th Anniversary alongside two of your old tenants, Johnny Stingray & Kidd Spike.
Los Angeles rock & roll was forever changed back in 1977 & you most definitely had a hand in doing so.
Thank you, sir.
